FIRST EVER VILLIERS V6 & V10 CRANKSHAFT BEING MACHINED
The attached videos show the first ever V6 / V10 crank being machined on a five axis milling machine at partner company AWG Precision Engineering.
The crank is a modular design with each end section being the same for any cylinder configuration, V4, V6, V8, V10 etc.
The centre sections are added or removed to suit. Each section is machined separately and then pressed together to form the required finished configuration. The crank sections are heat treated and re machined several times during the process to ensure perfect tolerances and alignment.
Once the cranks are finished we will then assemble a V6 and V10 engine ready for dyno testing. Production engines are expected to be released later this year following the successful conclusion of the extensive test programme.
We will release more information on the engine development as we progress through the test schedule in the near future.
